KTL

http://www.ktl.com

KTL has offered DSL interop (interoperability) testing services since 1997 when the first regulatory DSL standards were introduced. The service offering has expanded from basic regulatory testing to full DSL interop testing (including TR-067 and TR-100), network consultancy and training, and KTL DSL services are now renowned throughout the world. KTL DSL interop testing includes ADSL interop, ADSL2+ interop, RE-ADSL, ADSL2+, VDSL2 interop and G.SHDSL technologies at both our UK and US facilities. The level of DSL interop testing ranges from basic chipset interoperability to complete product interoperability. KTL provides testing against the regulatory requirements for countries such as Australia, USA, Canada, South Africa, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore, as well as operator specific requirements, such as British Telecom, France Telecom, Deutsche Telekom and the US RBOCs. KTL testing and interoperability services cover the DSL technologies for HDSL, SHDSL, ADSL, ADSL2, ADSL2+ and VDSL2. KTL DSL interop testing services includes the testing of DSL modems, gateways and set-top boxes that support the DSL Forum TR-069 protocol and the interop testing and certification of such products against the Motorola (Netopia) NBBS platform. TR-069 is a CPE WAN Management Protocol (CWMP) for communication between a CPE and an Auto-Configuration Server (ACS), which enables auto-configuration, diagnostics and monitoring of CPE. KTL has been an active member of the DSL Forum since 1999 with regular attendance at meetings and significant contributions to the technical working groups. Under the DSL Forum Independent Test Laboratory (ITL) recognition scheme, KTL was the first lab in the world to hold such recognition. Karim Sharf, KTL's CTO, explains the basics of DSL interop testing.
