Member Service Corporation (MSC) was founded by Bob Hargis in 1973 and operated as a sole proprietorship until the company incorporated in 1985. Richard F. Hargis, II was appointed MSC President in 1988. As an independent insurance firm serving credit union members nationwide, MSC represents some of the worlds leading financial and insurance services companies. MSC offers a diverse product menu that includes AD&D, Group Term Life, Individual and Group Dental Insurance, Cancer/Critical Illness Coverage, Long Term Care and more. By integrating insurance services with financial services, the credit union is more likely to become the members PFI (primary financial institution). The Public School Retirement System of the City of St. Louis (PSRSSTL) was established January 1, 1944. It provides retirement, disability, death, and survivor benefits for Employees of the St. Louis Public School District, Employees of the PSRSSTL, Employees of Charter Schools located in the St. Louis Public School District, and certain Employees of Harris-Stowe State College. Members of the PSRSSTL are also covered by Social Security, and are eligible for full Social Security benefits in addition to Plan benefits. Member contributions, Employer contributions, and investment earnings on the Plan's assets fund the Plan's benefits. Eligible Employees of the St. Louis Public School District, the PSRSSTL, and Charter Schools located in the St. Louis Public School District are required to participate. It is the third oldest HMO in Colorado. Rocky Mountain HMO was the seventh HMO in the nation to become federally qualified following passage of the HMO Act of 1973 which established federal regulations for health maintenance organizations.
