North End Surgery, Buckingham is a purpose built medical centre wholly owned and managed by the Partners. All cancer patients are welcome to receive their care at the Cancer Care Center of York County, even if their hospital or physician is not affiliated with the Center.
Complementary Cancer Care Trust supports and encourages a holistic approach to self-care and seeks to address the physical, emotional and spiritual requirements of people who have cancer or a life-affecting illness. We support the carer throughout the cancer journey, and afterwards, alongside anyone suffering from stress and depression. The Trust provides information, support groups, Counselling, Acupuncture and a selection of complementary therapies,which can be safely used alongside allopathic treatment. We were established as a registered charity in June 2000, and are the only Trust within the South-East and North Kent offering this service. At the Trust we work with people on an individual level and within groups where they can meet others in similar circumstances. We provide a Home Visiting Service that affords benefits to those unable to attend the weekly support groups, due to frailty, disability, illness, or the effects of undergoing cancer treatments. From 2007 the Trust will be launching its Holistic Palliative Care service, which will be offered to clients in the advance stages of their illness. By helping them to manage pain control and other symptoms. Palliative care aims to achieve the best quality of life for patients and their families. The Trust's committee consists of a multidisciplinary group, who meet on a monthly basis to discuss the requirements of our clients, and how to exceed them.
Parkview Regional Cancer Center provides free PSA screens Sept. 16 and 18 The Parkview Regional Cancer Center is offering free, prostate-specific antigen (PSA) screens for men on Sept. 16 and 18 from 1 to 5 p.m. each day at the Parkview Radiation Oncology Center, 2500 E. State Blvd. Space is limited to the first 200 men to register. The test is recommended for men who are age 50 and over (40 and over for black men and those at high risk for the disease). This simple blood test, which detects potential problems in the prostate gland by measuring the amount of PSA in a man's blood, can provide early detection and improve chances for surviving prostate cancer. If detected early, before it spreads outside the prostate gland, prostate cancer is treatable and curable. PSA screens are specifically for men who have never been tested before. Men who have previously had PSA screens should establish an ongoing relationship with their family physician for monitoring and follow-up. North Coast Cancer Care was founded in 1983. We initially offered hematology and oncology services as a part of Sandusky Internists. Later, we became focused on cancer care. North Coast Cancer Care provides services at area hospitals including Firelands Regional Medical Center, Fisher-Titus Memorial Hospital, Magruder Hospital, The Bellevue Hospital, and Fremont Memorial Hospital.
