Idaho Independent Bank

http://www.theidahobank.com

Idaho Independent Bank (IIB) was founded in October of 1993 to fill a void in Idaho caused by the many bank mergers, consolidations, and centralizations taking place at the time. At IIB, we believe that customers come first and do not want to deal with big, impersonal banking giants. Instead, they are looking for an Idaho bank with friendly people who are more apt to know you by name. A bank with local management that can approve loans without a lot of red tape and a full-service product line utilizing the latest technologies. Today, and always, that is exactly what IIB is about. We are "The Idaho Bank".

Bayview Credit Union Limited

http://www.bayviewnb.com

Bayview Credit Union Limited is the largest credit union in New Brunswick. Bayview was also the first New Brunswick community credit union, officially coming into being on March 16, 1938. As in our early days, we continue today to be open to all. Over our seventy year history, we have grown from a single branch to serve members at seven branches stretching from Saint John to Sussex. Our members likewise have increased in number, from an original 12 to more than 20,000, and as of our fiscal 2007 year-end our assets have grown to exceed $225 million. In the past five years alone, Bayview's assets have increased at an impressive average rate of 10.6% per year. From humble beginnings in a small East Saint John building Bayview has blossomed into a full-fledged financial institution with a network of branches. We've grown and opened branches around Saint John and throughout southern New Brunswick: 1976 West Saint John branch opens at 46 Main Street 1980 Sussex branch opens at 582 Main Street 1982 Saint John Regional Hospital branch opens when Medical Services Credit Union merges with Bayview 1990 Harbour City Credit Union (Prince William Street) merges with Bayview Credit Union 1992 Oak Hall branch opens at 57 King Street in uptown Saint John 2001 Hampton branch opens 2006 Kennebecasis Valley branch opens We've grown a great deal since the first tentative planning meetings in 1937 leading to our formation. Bayview is not only a growing financial institution but also a local leader in its industry. We were the first local credit union to be computerized and the first to offer such services as daily interest savings, RRSPs, and RRIFs. We've since expanded our services with the introduction of our own ATM network; income tax services; telephone banking (BayLine) services; Internet banking (BayWeb) services; Interac® direct payment services; investment options, including Term Deposits, regular and index-linked GICs and Credential Asset Management® mutual funds; Choice Rewards Points® on MasterCard® products; Global Payment MasterCard® services and more. Yet through all the advances the same vision that gave birth to Bayview in 1938 continues to drive us forward today as we seek ways to be competitive in an increasingly aggressive marketplace and to achieve profitability for all. Bayview remains dedicated to serving its community and its members, from sharing profits to offering top-notch services to implementing modern security procedures to protect member assets.

FHLBank employs approximately 160 people and is located in Topeka, Kan. In 1932, Congress established a system of 12 home loan banks to relieve financial strains on thrift institutions and to promote homeownership. The other banks are located in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Cincinnati, Dallas, Des Moines, Indianapolis, New York, Pittsburgh, San Francisco and Seattle. The 12 home loan banks are regulated by the Federal Housing Finance Agency in Washington, D.C. The Office of Finance issues and services debt on behalf of the 12 Federal Home Loan Banks. The first president of FHLBank Topeka was Chester A. Sterling, former chairman of the U.S. Savings and Loan League's reserve credits and banking committee, which wrote the first draft of the Federal Home Loan Bank Act and presented it to President Herbert Hoover. Sterling became president of the Topeka Bank Oct. 15, 1932. Charles Curtis, vice president of the United States in 1932 and the highest ranking Native American ever to hold public office, selected his hometown of Topeka, Kan., as a home loan bank site. Before the Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery and Enforcement Act of 1989 (FIRREA), only saving and loan associations and insurance companies could be members of FHLBank Topeka. FIRREA extended membership eligibility to commercial banks and credit unions and established the home loan banks' affordable housing and community investment programs.
