American Spirit Federal Credit Union

http://www.americanspirit.org

American Spirit Federal Credit Union was chartered in 1963. The founding members believed that a non-profit financial institution organized and operated by fellow workers would help improve their lives and the lives of their co-workers. The credit union was a unique idea to many of the workers who were having trouble obtaining financial services in the 1960's. The credit union attracted many members who were interested in the credit union's cooperative nature and its non-profit status. American Spirit Federal Credit Union has grown to a mid-sized financial institution with over 30 million dollars in assets. The credit union's relatively small size, its non profit status, and the fact that its' owned and operated by local members, continues to attract many new members. On September 15th, 1998, the credit union was granted a community charter to serve anyone who lives, works, worships, goes to school, or belongs to an association located in the City of Newark.

Picatinny Federal Credit Union

http://www.picatinnycu.org

Picatinny Federal Credit Union (PFCU) was established in June 1939, at Picatinny Arsenal, Dover, New Jersey. We started as a small institution, offering basic Share Accounts to our predominantly civilian members and later included both active and retired military personnel. We now offer a large array of financial services ranging from checking accounts, IRA's, Club Accounts, Share Certificates, Visa® cards, First Mortgages, Equity Loans and Lines of Credit, overdraft protection, Check Cards, all kinds of vehicle loans, personal loans and even loans to fund the Holidays. Because so many of our members are mobile and distant from our offices, we deployed several remote access services such as: a world wide network of ATM's, an internet PC based Web Banking and Bill Payer product, the ability to bank by touch tone phone (MOM) from anywhere, and a multipurpose web page offering a wide array of functions; even the ability to file loan applications and first mortgage applications, online. Over the years, more than 250 other businesses and employee groups have joined PFCU's field of membership. Today, we serve over 18,000 members and their families across the country and overseas with assets totaling over $250 million with branches at Picatinny Arsenal, Rockaway and Mt. Olive, New Jersey. PFCU is a full-service credit union with a focus on being our members' primary financial institution by providing excellent service, great rates, and financial security. Our focus and commitment to our members is to be the premier credit union in New Jersey. This means that we want to be able to meet each of our members' individual financial needs, whether it be a loan or a dividend earning account, educating them on how to negotiate a car purchase, or how to use any other service we provide. We cherish each of our members' concerns and will work tirelessly to maintain their trust and loyalty. We care for our members!

Maine Family Federal Credit Union

http://www.mainefamilyfcu.com

Maine Family Federal Credit Union was originally named Sainte Famille Federal Credit Union and was founded March 28, 1938. Rev. Vital E. Nonorgues was assigned Ste. Famille Parish in Lewiston and founded the credit union to help his parishioners with their economic struggles at the time. It was the first credit union in Lewiston/Auburn and the first parish credit union in the state of Maine. Office hours were held after Sunday masses. In 1942, the credit union had 482 members. Over the years, the credit union moved to different locations and grew. In 1957, Holy Family School partnered with the credit union's youth program and received nationwide recognition for teaching youngsters about savings. In the early 1980s, Maine Family expanded its field of membership to a community charter encompassing one-quarter of the city of Lewiston. In 1985, the present office at 555 Sabattus Street was built to better accommodate members. Then in the late 1990s, Maine Family was granted approval by the National Credit Union Administration to expand its field of membershipto serve people who live, work, worship or go to school in Androscoggin County. In 2002, Maine Family opened the Stevens Mills School building on the corner of Minot Avenue/Hotel Road and converted a historic structure into a first class credit union branch office. Today, Maine Family has over 17,000 members.

AmeriCU Credit Union

http://www.americu.org

The Credit Union was chartered in 1951 as the Griffiss Employees Credit Union and operated out of a desk in the Headquarters Building at Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome, serving only civilian members. As we grew, the charter was amended to expand the field of membership and the variety of products and services offered. Our name was then changed to Griffiss-Oneida Federal Credit Union. In 1985, Griffiss-Oneida FCU merged with DeWitt First Federal Credit Union in Syracuse and our name was changed again to Up State Federal Credit Union. In 1988, we also merged with Fort Drum Federal Credit Union. In 2000, we changed our Federal charter to a New York State charter and our name was changed to AmeriCU Credit Union. AmeriCU Credit Union serves over 100,000 members throughout Central and Northern New York and beyond, and offers a complete line of financial services - including savings and investment accounts, consumer and real estate loans, credit cards, our own proprietary ATM network and toll-free automated TeleLink service. AmeriCU is also a member of many ATM networks. Branch offices are located throughout Northern and Central New York State. All members' regular accounts are insured up to $100,000 by the NCUA, and member IRAs are insured to $250,000. Most importantly, the concept and philosophy of the credit union movement's beginnings - co-operative field of membership, one member one vote, education and affordable credit - are still integral parts of our daily operation and are what set us apart from our competitors. The credit union creed of "Not for Profit, But for Service" carries on in a movement created to serve the people.

Members 1st Federal Credit Union

http://www.members1st.org

Members 1st Federal Credit Union is a member-owned full service financial institution located in Southcentral Pennsylvania. In 1950, we opened our doors with a desk and small counter outside the personnel office at the Naval Supply Depot in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. We officially adopted the name of DAFCU (Defense Activities Federal Credit Union) in 1972 and opened our first branch office at the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle that same year. Our name changed to Members 1st in 1994 to reflect our growing field of membership. In 2003, we opened up credit union membership to anyone who lives, works, worships, goes to school or volunteers in Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lebanon, Perry or York Counties or the Borough of Shippensburg. This "community charter" put us in a position to offer credit union services to more people throughout Southcentral Pennsylvania. We wanted everyone to have another option for personal and business accounts from which to choose. We wanted people in our region to have an alternative for competitive rates, better service, fewer fees and a lot more options. Today, we have 30 full-service branches and we're adding more every year. Our 130,000+ members reflect the changing landscape of our geographical footprint. They're also owners of the Credit Union. Being member-owned means we don't have to pay out big dividends to stockholders. Since 1950, our members have been an integral part of who we are, and that remains so today. They volunteer their time on our oversight committees and our Board of Directors and work hand in hand with our associates to help Members 1st run seamlessly. Members 1st is a growing credit union, but over the years we kept our focus on what really matters - to put our members first.
