The FLORIDA MUSEUM OF PHOTOGRAPHIC ARTS is a museum dedicated to exhibiting important photographic art as central to contemporary life and culture. FMoPA collects, preserves and exhibits historic and contemporary works by nationally and internationally known photographic artists. FMoPA also enriches the community by operating outreach programs to educate children and adults.
Opened in 1992, the Griffin Museum is the embodiment of founder Arthur Griffin's passion - to promote an appreciation of photographic art and a broader understanding of its visual, emotional, and social impact. Arthur's goal was to share with visitors his enthusiasm for a medium that is diverse, imaginative and informative. We are committed to continuing to encourage Arthur's vision through the works we exhibit, the programs we offer, the artists we encourage and through Arthur's own work which we proudly display. Today, the Griffin Museum houses three galleries dedicated solely to the exhibition of photographic arts.
Prefix Photo magazine is published by Prefix Institute of Contemporary Art, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to the appreciation and understanding of photographic, media and digital arts. Prefix is supported by its members and patrons, and by the Canada Council for the Arts, the Ontario Arts Council, and the Department of Canadian Heritage. Prefix is also supported on a project basis by the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, the Ontario Trillium Foundation, the Ontario Media Development Corporation, Cultural Careers Council Ontario, and the Toronto Arts Council.
