As Marketing Manager for Marine Atlantic, a large government-owned ferry service operating throughout Atlantic Canada, Mr. Frost developed a much-acclaimed new cruise product, "Cruising Labrador", using the company's under utilized capacity. Prior to joining Marine Atlantic, Mr. Frost managed a container feeder / transhipment service operating between the traditional trading links of Halifax and Boston. This service was the result of a marketing and feasibility study which he co-authored. It is part of the global Evergreen Group that also includes Evergreen Marine Corporation, Italia Marittima S.p.A. and EVA Air. Through slot-share agreements, Hatsu now offers a broad range of services embracing Europe, Asia and North America. The company has also been charged with the responsibility of developing new markets in North Europe, particularly in the new member countries of the EU and Russia. The first Hatsu-owned vessels, five 6332 TEU E-type containerships, were placed in the transpacific trades between the Far East and North America and two further ships of 1618 TEU are running the Red Sea-Far East service. Two 7024 TEU vessels, Hatsu Shine and Hatsu Sigma, will be brought into the Hatsu fleet shortly, joining the China-Europe-Mediterranean Service (CEM) before the end of 2005.
