Sparkworld Limited

http://www.sparkworld.co.uk

Sparkworld was started in 1985 by Marian Crausaz and Ian James, who had previously run a small company called Torbay Tubes. The contacts gained through Torbay Tubes allowed them to start Sparkworld. The first premises were located just off the Kerswell Road in a group of units called Coventry Farm, where they distributed reconditioned machines to the Cornwall area. After a short while Sparkworld relocated to the Brunel industrial estate in Newton Abbot, into a 6,000 sq ft warehouse, and here it stayed for a few years. The next move took Sparkworld to a site on the Heathfield Industrial estate, just outside of Bovey Tracy, where the company was expanded to sell retail as well as wholesale. After 10 years of continual growth the company purchased, what was then the Coca-Cola distribution centre, a few units down the road at 9 Battle Road, a 2.2 acre site. To cope with the increase in retail sales, a large comprehensive showroom was built. Since moving to this site, increased trade has required additional warehouse space on the site with mezzanine floors to make use of the large volume. Since it started 20 years ago Sparkworld has developed from a business run by the two Managing Directors to a company employing 32 staff and delivering all over Devon & Cornwall and distributing throughout England & Wales. Further development of the company has lead to the sponsorship of the local football club Torquay United, both their club strip and their away stand. The company also supports many local causes and charities including Paignton Zoo.

Tempo Electric was founded by JL in 1999 with the expressed purpose of producing Dr. L's designs in definitive editions, using the best possible parts, built to the highest practical standards, and without unit-to-unit variation. Working together, often on a daily basis, the two pushed Dr. L's designs to their limits in order to realize an unprecedented level of life like, in home musical reproduction. Tempo's goal is to provide a home audio system which has been carefully mapped from source to speaker, eliminating the issue of equipment matching, as well as to produce individual components which integrate well into existing setups. The number of models has been kept to a minimum and each is introduced only when its level of achievement cannot be bettered. When you purchase one of our products, you do so without fear of a Mk II, III, or IV update appearing every six months. Upgrades, if any, will be minimal and designed to be retrofitted at nominal cost.

Radio House

http://www.radio-house.co.uk

Radio House is a small independent electrical retailer which has been around since 1947 and run by the current owner for more than 30 years. Being an independent store means we have less over heads than some of our bigger competitors, and being part of a large buying group means we can offer you some great deals on all our products and still offer you the service you would expect from the smaller dealer. All our staff have been with us for a number of years, our newest employee since 1988, so you are guaranteed to be able to speak to some one who is knowledgeable and happy to help you, something sadly most of the big stores are unable to do with their high staff turn over.

C. Farmer Ltd

http://www.cfarmerltd.co.uk

C. Farmer Ltd is a family concern, and was started in the mid 1930's by Mr. Charles Farmer, originally selling battery chargers for recharging lead acid batteries for powering the early radio receivers, from a wooden hut adjoining his fathers garage on Smedley Street, Matlock. From this small beginning he branched out to also selling the radios, and then in due course, TV and VCR's. The company is now run by his son, Mr. Robin Farmer, and consists of two branches, one at Bakewell and the head office at Matlock, comprising two adjoining shops, the workshop, and accounts department. Back in the 60's and 70's we also ran two cable relay systems, one in Bakewell (405 only), and one in Matlock (405 and 625), to provide reception in particularly bad areas. With the advent of the local relay transmitters from the mid 70's onwards, we were able to close down and dismantle the systems.

Carlton-Bates Company

http://www.carlton-bates.com

In 1957, CARLTON-BATES COMPANY opened its doors to supply electronic components and equipment to the growing industrial plants of Arkansas. The venture was built by a couple of guys who dreamed that some day most or all of the moving parts in any industrial plant would be controlled by electronic devices; however, neither of the founders envisioned the rapid and revolutionary changes that in a few years would result in a small computer-like device operating machines performing all types of manufacturing processes and movement of assembly and/or conveyor lines. This high-tech revolution, (ignited by the invention of the transistor by Bell Labs in 1947), not only brought electronics to manufacturing plants, but to hospitals, utilities, government installations, construction, and all types of business. For fifty years, Carlton-Bates Company has been a leader of the Industrial OEM market and a major distributor of automation controls and advanced electronic/electromechanical solutions. Carlton-Bates was acquired by WESCO Distribution, Inc. in late 2005. As part of the WESCO family of companies, Carlton-Bates serves customers in all 50 states and Mexico. WESCO (make hotlink to WESCO corporate site) offers everything electrical for industrials, utilities, retailers, home builders, communications, contractors, and healthcare. With dedicated OEM assembly facilities in the U.S. and Mexico, Carlton-Bates provides outsourced manufacturing for our partnered OEMs, saving our customers time, money, and resources. In addition to local consultative support, Carlton-Bates offers a vast inventory of product solutions from over 360 authorized manufacturers. We service a broad spectrum of end markets with an array of products such as sensors, switches, relays, circuit breakers, contactors, wire/cable management, power supplies, terminal blocks, and connectors. CARLTON-BATES COMPANY has a professional sales staff responsible for assisting, and managing 20,000+ customers while providing the absolute best customer experience. We process more than 2,500 customer orders each day, accurately and on time. Almost all of these orders are shipped the same day the order is received. For almost fifty years, we have used high-tech methods to distribute high-tech products to high-tech users. Our sales philosophy, simply stated, is to do business the way the customer wants to do business. We take pride in customizing our services to fit our customer's needs. We look forward to working with you, and your company.

Engenuity Systems , Inc.

http://www.engenuity.com

Engenuity Systems is the largest LonWorks and open systems products distributor in the world. Engenuity was originally founded in 1994 to focus on the development of LonWorks interface cards, I/O products and drivers. As the LonWorks and open systems market grew, we found customers needed a single resource to purchase a variety of LonWorks products manufactured worldwide. At that time, Engenuity took the opportunity to restructure the company and we become a distributor of LonWorks and open systems products. While we still offer our legacy interface cards, we have pioneered a completely new business model, now offering over 6000 products for use in building automation and industrial automation networks. Most of these products are nodes, or LonWorks products, but we also offer a variety of other products like sensors, ribs, enclosures, gateways, and more to build a completely automated network viewable anywhere in the world over the web. We continue to add products on a weekly basis.

JB Hi-Fi Limited

http://www.jbhifi.com.au

The business was established in 1974 by Mr. John Barbuto (JB), trading from a single store in East Keilor, Victoria. In October 2003, JB Hi-Fi was floated on the Australian Stock Exchange. Now, maintaining Barbuto's original philosophy, JB is Australasia's fastest growing and largest retailer of home entertainment. In July 2004, JB bought the Queensland Clive Anthony chain of stores which sell consumer electronics, white goods, cooking appliances and air-conditioning. As part of its New Zealand expansion JB purchased the Auckland Hill & Stewart chain in March 2007. JB stores offer the world's leading brands of Hi-Fi, Speakers, Televisions, DVD's, VCR's, Cameras, Car Sound, Home Theatre, Computers and Portable Audio and continues to stock an exclusive range of specialist Hi-Fi products. Some of the pages this website links to are not Australian sites, so please contact us to check availability, also the prices may reflect different currency so if you are interested in any products on this site, please visit your nearest store for JB's low prices.
