MortgagesInCanada.com

http://www.mortgagesincanada.com

MortgagesInCanada.com is a division of MortgageBroker Inc with its head offices located in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Our President, Andy MacDonald, was one of the first mortgage brokers in Canada to see the potential of the Internet and in the spring of 1995 he created the Mortgages In Canada Discussion Group. His goal was to use the Internet as a means of empowering Canadians with the knowledge required to save money on their mortgage. When asked what he enjoys most about his work Andy said, "The thing I enjoy most is helping out the little guy. The average Canadian is at a distinct disadvantage when dealing with their bankers. There is nothing better than going into the corners for the little guy and getting an aggressive rate discount out of the banks or turning a declined deal into an approval!" Canadians from coast to coast have benefited from our online services and from our more traditional bricks and mortar location. Don't just take our word for it - read our testimonials and find out how we've helped many people, just like you! We want your mortgage business! Contact us today and we will find you the best mortgage in Canada.

The ACPA Discussion Groups

http://www.theacpa.org

The American Chronic Pain Association was founded in 1980 by Penney Cowan in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania . After many years of living with chronic pain, Penney had taken part in the pain management program at the Cleveland Clinic and was eager to maintain the skills she had learned there when she returned to her daily life. Penney placed a notice in her church bulletin and soon found others whose lives were compromised by ongoing pain. They began meeting as the first ACPA support group. This one small group quickly became many. Unable to be personally involved with every group, Penney developed the first of the ACPA's manuals and other materials so that others could learn and maintain the skills that had been so important to maintaining her wellness. Today several hundred ACPA support groups meet across the US and in Canada, Great Britain, and many other countries. The ACPA's unique materials are a primary resource for individuals seeking to improve the quality of their lives and for the professionals who help them.

Wireality

http://www.wireality.com

Wireality is a forum about branding and corporate identity, created, owned and operated by Grapefruit Design. We have envisioned it as a space for sharing, learning, networking and discussing any topic of interest for the corporate design and branding community. Wireality is also a launching pad and testing facility for ideas regarding branding/identity issues in both cyberspace and the real world. It is also a friendly place for the debate of such ideas. Wireality members come from over a dozen countries on four continents. What unites them, beside their interest in branding and corporate identity, is the English language, which is the lingua franca at Wireality. Wireality began in October 2001 as an email discussion list. Today Wireality comprises: The original Wireality email discussion list The Weekly Wire news digest, combining news, opinions, articles, papers, case studies and characters related or relevant to branding and corporate identity The searchable, threaded Wireality Archives, publicly available on this site. The Wireality Member Profiles, available in the members-only area of Wireality.com. Since its inception, Wireality has managed to attract a diverse constituency, ranging from junior designers and freelancers to media people, seasoned professionals from small shops, in-house creative departments and global consultancies alike, as well as some of today's branding/identity celebrities and luminaries. To this day, Wireality is free and, more importantly, focused and relevant. Quite uncommonly, Wireality is also spam-, advertising-, and virus-free. If all this sounds interesting and you think you can bring value to this forum by sharing your news, opinons and insight, you may take the first step towards joining Wireality, by filling out our online membership request (click on "Join Wireality" below).

The Raleigh Men's Center

http://www.theraleighmenscenter.org

The Raleigh Men's Center provides a safe place in which men support men in becoming themselves. We are committed to strengthening men's roles as friend, son, father, husband/partner and citizen. The Men's Center is committed to strengthening the individual, the family and the community. Temple, I want to say thank you for sharing your time and expertise during our recent Leadership Retreat. Under your guidance we were able to see the bigger picture. And I want to thank Art Kirwin and the Brothers of the De Porres House for opening their home to us for the weekend. Out of that weekend came a new Vision and a new definition of our Mission. We also set some immediate and long-term goals for the Men's Center (see Art Kirwin's Leadership Council in Action). As we were working through the process, my spirit began to soar with anticipation and hope. As we worked deeper into the process, Temple reminded us that there must be a person willing to be held accountable for each of our stated goals. Here I began to feel some sadness and anxiety, because in precious Councils accountability often became a problem--a stuck place. I remember that in years past, when the Council would ask for volunteers to be held accountable, a Council Member would volunteer to take responsibility for one or more of the goals. Quite often, however, it would become painfully clear that trying to manage his regular Council duties, his personal life, and this new additional responsibility was an impossible task. With a great deal of sadness and sometimes a sense of shame, the volunteer would have to confess he was feeling overwhelmed. As a result, the goal would be abandoned. In order to prevent this pattern from repeating itself, the Council of 1996-97 agreed that they would depend on the Elders' Council and the general membership to take responsibility for carrying out most of the goals of the Men's Center. So what is my point? Well, it's this: if we in the general membership are unwilling to embrace and, more important, take responsibility for the Vision, the Mission, and the goals set forth by our Leadership Council, then we will remain in our current rut. (I once heard it said that a rut is nothing more than a grave with both ends kicked out). You may think that my language is extreme, but I assure you it is not. We are not making rent, membership dues cannot pay for the newsletter, membership numbers are stagnant at best, and we are doing nothing new to realize our Mission. Brothers, I tell you that we, the members of the Men's Center, must do something, and we must do it now, or we are going to be having some very hard times. I know that many of you just got back from the Gathering of Men weekend and you are feeling really up and positive. It is my hope and expectation that you will turn those feelings into action. If you were at the Gathering, you were asked to fill out a survey. This survey is obviously a call to action. If you didn't respond, I would ask that you fill it out now and drop it in the mail addressed to our Post Office Box. If you were not at the Gathering, please find the enclosed survey, fill it out, and mail it in to us. I believe that each of us are members because the Men's Center has a need or is currently meeting one. Please trust me when I tell you that there are many other men in our communities that have needs that we can meet. Those needs are why our Leadership Council has established the goals they have. But the Council is not able to meet these goals on its own. If men from the membership do not take responsibility, the goals will not become a reality. Our phone log and messaging system is running much more efficiently because a man cared and took responsibility. We now have a web page because a man cared and took responsibility. We have just held the Third Annual Gathering of Men because a man cared and took responsibility. And yet none of these men did these projects alone; they just said they were willing to be held accountable. If you decide to take responsibility, you can help us come one step closer to realizing our Mission.

New Intellectual Forum

http://www.newintellectualforum.com

The New Intellectual Forum was founded in 1987 by Marsha and John Enright as a discussion group that focuses on Objectivist topics and ideas. An NIF gathering consists of three parts: a dinner at a restaurant, a presentation with group discussion, and then finally socializing and general discussion. As Marsha explains, "The purpose of the evening is to present ideas, information, and knowledge, often new identifications in Objectivism or other related areas." Typically, the salon meets in the Beverly Hills/Morgan Park neighborhood of Chicago on the 3rd Saturday of each month, but the exact day and topic is available from the main page of the NIF website or from checking the news and annoucnements page. The New Intellectual Forum was the subject of an article by The Objectivist Center, and also featured prominently in an interview of Marsha Enright on how to run an Objectivist salon. Marsha Enright has been interested in Objectivism since she read The Fountainhead at age 16. She is a trained psychologist, co-founder and executive director of the Council Oak Montessori School, and launched The Fountainhead Institute. If you're interested in further information about NIF and its activities, you may contact Marsha online. Information on The New Intellectual Forum is also available at the club directory maintained by The Objectivist Center.

The Flute Network

http://www.flutenet.com

The Flute Network is a non-profit corporation serving flutists, flute teachers, and the people who love them (P.W.L.F.P.'s). We began as a print publication in 1983, and we continue today to circulate free of charge to over 6,300 different flutists and flute teachers nationwide. Our purpose is to provide a "bulletin board service" and to generally facilitate communications among those interested in the flute - and expanding to the Internet seems the next logical step in that mission! Please notice our Publishers Policy on Honesty ... this is a hallmark of our service and we intend to continue it even in this medium. What is the Web site all about? Here's our plan: 10 times a year the Classified Listings and Greetings for each issue will be posted here, on or near the date of each issues publication. Also, we hope you will make use of our Registry of Stolen Instruments -- this listing is updated as necessary! (Happily, we can report that several instruments have been located and returned to their proper owners, so we know it has helped!) Advice on buying and selling instruments between private persons is listed here, as is a Directory of other Internet sites that The Flute Network is proud to suggest for your consideration. Though we are not yet equipped to accept ads via the Internet (at least not so far!), a Form and Directions for placing ads is a part of our site. To place an ad in The Flute Network we will need to receive your written copy and your check via regular mail: P.O. Box 9472, San Bernardino, CA 92427. Be sure to include all the required information about your instrument as you complete your ad (see Directions and Form for Placing Ads). Generally the deadline for ads of any kind is noon on the 5th of the month for publication going out the 15th of that month (with one exception - the July/August issue; more on that later). Two issues are combined issues: the May and June issues are combined, with deadline of noon on May 5th for mailing May 15th; and the July and August are combined into our Pre-National Flute Association Convention issue, which goes to press on July 15th, to be in the mail by July 25th! PLEASE BE AWARE -- THIS WEB SITE IS DESIGNED TO AUGMENT AND NOT REPLACE OUR REGULAR MAILINGS! Some of the wonderful things we regularly share just don't translate well to Internet transmission, such as our "Flute Network Freebies". So, if you'd like to be added to our bulk mail list to receive your copy by mail, you can post your request via our Email, by phone, or even by mailing us a postcard indicating your wish -- do be sure to give us a compete address and full zip code! For those who wish to receive their copies a bit faster, First Class Subscriptions are available for a fee of $20.00 a year, which will allow us to send you your copy via first class mail (in the U.S.A.; $29.50 [U.S. funds] for Canada and airmail overseas). Because of postal regulations, the Flute Network is available in Canada and overseas only by first class subscription. Single issues will be sent upon receipt of a postage-paid, self-addressed business-size envelope. Do feel free to give us a call if we can help with any questions. If this is the first you've seen of this publication we welcome you to The Flute Network and look forward to receiving your ad or notice!
