Lafayette Storage & Moving was founded in 1959 in Buffalo, NY. In 1963, Lafayette became an agent for Atlas Van Lines and remains so today. Expanding operations to Rochester, NY in 1969, Lafayette has always prided itself in being 100% focused on customer satisfaction. With over 40 years of experience in household goods moving and storage, Lafayette has grown into a classic Family Owned and Operated organization.
Alfonso J. Ferrentino purchased Lafayette in 1959, and still remains active as President and C.E.O. He is supported by his son Vincent Ferrentino, Vice President, his son Mark Ferrentino, Operations Manager, and his daughter Catherine Ferrentino, Office and Accounts Manager. With two generations of family members actively working together, Lafayette Storage & Moving prides itself on offering the highest quality of transportation and storage services the industry has to offer.
A.J. Ferrentino, president of Lafayette Storage & Moving Corporation reflects on becoming an Atlas Van Lines agent.
New agents were joining Atlas all the time. In 1961 A.J. Ferrentino, president of Lafayette Storage and Moving Corporation of West Henrietta, New York, became a member agent. He recounts how Atlas affected his company.
"Atlas Van Lines means more to me than I can put into words. Going with Atlas in the early sixties, after being solicited by Jack Thorne, was the beginning of the transformation of Lafayette from a local delivery and moving company to a long-distance agency. In 1967 a trip to Detroit with my accountant to Mr. O.H. Frisbie's office resulted in Mr. Frisbie's recommendation that Atlas advance the financial help for Lafayette to build and open a brand-new facility in Rochester, New York. It opened in 1968 and has since brought in much revenue for Lafayette and Atlas Van Lines. Although I'm confident we would have been successful anyway, I'm sure it would never have been to the same degree it has been had it not been for O.H. Frisbie and Atlas Van Lines."
