DFT's telecommunications services are delivered through its national network with 54 points of presence (POPs) in main capital cities and regional areas around Australia. The network architecture and technology can be used for distributing voice, data or video simultaneously, giving the capability to supply local, long distance, high speed data, internet and video conferencing services to its customers.
Using existing infrastructure and established reputation, DFT has built a wireless network, particularly suited to the distribution of telecommunication services in the less populated regional areas, providing the link between remote customers and suppliers. It also allows DFT to tailor a service to regional organisations requiring Internet access and inter-regional connection between branches, customers and suppliers or with head offices in capital cities.
With a focus on servicing customers in the major regional towns and cities, and offering a more cost effective alternative than the larger service providers, DFT is in a strong position to accelerate growth by extending it s network infrastructure to include most regional centres through Victoria and Eastern Australia.
