Pedersen Planning Consultants (PPC) is a subsidiary company of The Pedersen Corporation, a subchapter S corporation registered in the State of Wyoming.
Jim Pedersen originally established James Pedersen, Planning Consultant, in Volcano, Hawaii in 1986 after his association with various engineering organizations in Alaska, Hawaii, and California. Mr. Pedersen has served as principal planner and owner of the firm since its inception. The firm served various public and private clients in Alaska, Hawaii, American Samoa, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of Palau, and the Territory of Guam. Pedersen Planning Consultants provided a wide range of planning services that supported public infrastructure and economic development programs, and other private investment projects.
In 1994, the firm relocated its corporate office to Encampment, Wyoming and changed its name to Pedersen Planning Consultants (PPC). The relocation was made to expand PPC’s service area to include the Intermountain and Rocky Mountain region of the continental United States (Figure 1). Mr. Pedersen’s wife, Sandy, who had been actively involved with the company, became a co-owner at that time.
