Caldeira was established in 1991 and has bases in Liverpool, UK, in Hangzhou, China and in New York City USA. The company has grown from a market stall and now leads the UK market in the supply of cushions, decorative pillows and throws to volume retailers.

Caldeira UK has recently invested over £1.5m ($3m) in a new facility in Liverpool, England. The investment project also included brand new carding and blowing machinery to fill its cushions, new IT systems and software for business management and its own fleet of trucks to ensure complete control over its business from design to delivery.
In 2004 Caldeira Ltd with Ms Dai Shu Qin formed Caldeira China Ltd, known locally as Hao ShengTextiles, in the Hangzhou area of Eastern China. The ISO9001 company is growing rapidly and now supplies markets on every continent.
