Caterham Cars produce 500 niche sports cars per year for the UK and overseas markets. Over 25% of these are purchased for dedicated track and single series competition use. The Caterham Seven is type approved for sale in all EU4 markets and due to the increasing demand for engineering development Caterham is seeking a Chief Engineer. Responsibilities include meeting regulatory requirements and developing our position as the leading single type race series for road legal cars.
Key attributes for the successful candidate will include:
At least 10 years vehicle engineering experience (preferably in both chassis and powertrain).
A good understanding of the motorsport market (racing experience preferred)
Strong technical knowledge capable of taking responsibility for vehicle development projects
New product development experience and product foresight
Good track record in teamwork and developing small teams of engineers
Experience of managing 3rd party engineering suppliers
Ability as a test driver would be an advantage
