Pan American Underwriters was founded in 1948 as a provider of insurance products and services to agribusiness. Pan American has 15 offices serving California and Arizona. Innovation was the key to our early success. We developed in-house insurance products and managed insurance risks for our clients, thus the name Pan American Underwriters. Our core business remained unchanged until the late 1990,s when Pan American accelerated its growth by purchasing carefully selected agencies, expanding and diversifying our operations to better serve mainstreet consumers as well as agribusiness.
For almost sixty years the name Pan American Underwriters has become synonymous with quality customer service. We became experts in developing internal systems and procedures to provide superior service and products for our clients. We took the risk ourselves in 1975, founding a workers compensation insurance carrier. We implemented a customer service center, which utilizes state of the art systems and procedures. Our customer service center provides our clients with access to dozens of quality, competitive property and casualty insurance markets. Pan American represents many of the largest and best-known insurance carriers in the United States and is endorsed by over 40 agricultural associations.
In 2002 and again in 2003 Pan American Underwriters expanded its Crop Insurance resources and has become one of the largest writers of Crop Insurance in California.
Over the years, Pan American Underwriters has become one of the largest insurance agencies in the United States with approximately $200 million in annual sales, and growing. We are still known as one of the premier agribusiness markets in the West, but we are best known as insurance experts.
