Care Health Plan is a community accountable health plan that serves nearly 800,000 Los Angeles County residents through Medi-Cal, Healthy Families, and Healthy Kids, a program offered by L.A. Care that is made possible by First 5 LA and the Children's Health Initiative of Greater Los Angeles. L.A. Care is the largest public health plan in America. We are dedicated to helping Los Angeles County residents obtain health care coverage for their families from providers who understand and respect them. Working on behalf of the communities we serve, at L.A. Care, we are connected to our members and responsible to our community. L.A. Care is governed by 13 board members, representing medical and health care professionals, as well as Medi-Cal consumers. Several committees advise the board, including: Health Care Professionals Committee Children's Health Committee Executive Community Advisory Committee, which represents 11 Regional Community Advisory Committees composed of health plan members, advocates and medical professionals. Our employees, board and advisory committee members have a unique commitment to L.A. Care and our health plan members. We live and work in the cities and communities of Los Angeles County. Our health plan members are our neighbors. We care about the same things they do, including good health care and building healthy communities. For information about L.A.
