  • Pathology Associates Medical Laboratories (PAML) is a division of Bourget Health Services, Inc., a subsidiary of Providence Health Care, located in Spokane. PAML operates a state-of-the-art, full-service reference laboratory and maintains other laboratory operations throughout the western United States. Since its founding in 1957, PAML's capabilities and stature have grown significantly. It is now the largest independent laboratory in the Northwest. During the last several years, we have significantly increased our market share, greatly expanded our in-house esoteric-test menu, and implemented a wide range of sophisticated information systems. PAML now delivers a wide range of testing services to more than 100 hospitals throughout our core market: Washington, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, California, Utah, Wyoming, and Alaska. PAML is recognized as a national leader in the area of hospital partnering and laboratory joint ventures. PAML is a cofounder of PacLab Network Laboratories, which provides laboratory services throughout Seattle and western Washington, and is a partner in several other regional laboratory operations, including Tri-Cities Laboratory in central Washington and Treasure Valley Laboratory in Boise, Idaho. PAML remains on the cutting edge of laboratory information technology and has taken a leadership role in implementing state-of-the-art LIS-to-LIS computer interfaces. Using the latest interface engine technologies, we have created links with many different LIS systems, and we offer a variety of other data solutions as well. To maintain our high level of excellence, PAML subscribes to strict quality-assurance programs and is accredited by the College of American Pathologists. Our board-certified pathologists, doctoral-level scientists, and certified medical technologists and technicians all contribute to a proud tradition of medical excellence.
