Amusement Consultants, Ltd. has continued to expand. The company presently owns and operates approximately 6,000 coin-operated amusement machines and over 40 amusement skill games in 11 states. Ours is a wonderful example of an American success story. Our founders, Isidore and Beatrice Getlan,were a New York couple with considerable hope and a little money to invest in a dream. Like other New Yorkers, they possessed an energy that carried them as they built their business from one vending machine in the Bronx to many coin-operated machines throughout the city. Theirs was a business style that counted on and thrived because of family. Sons Mel and Ron, began working for the company at ages ten and eight respectively. Grandson Michael was sweeping upfloors and making up newspapers at the age of six. Grandson Wayne was cleaning games and starting his technical career at the age of eight. A special relationship, which has grown over the years, is the one that evolved between our company and Nathan's Famous Restaurants. Though not at the same point in time, both companies gained early success and public acceptance in the one place that is arguably the birthplace of this country's entertainment industry: Coney Island. Today, many of our locations are shared with Nathan's, an arrangement which well satisfies the two basic human needs - fun and food. Along with its arcades, family entertainment centers, amusement and recreational park operations, and other recreational facilities, Amusement Consultants, Ltd. also operates a miniature golf course, bumper boats, bumper cars, virtual reality equipment, laser tag arenas and a variety of amusement park rides. Amusement Consultants, Ltd. has created family entertainment centers and arcades for several Las Vegas casinos including the New York - New York Hotel Casino, The Stratosphere Hotel and Casino and Caesers Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
