DEFRA publish key trends guide DEFRA has published a new edition of its guide to key trends and other statistics on the environment. 'Environment in your Pocket 2003' includes more than 50 key data series covering: the global atmosphere, air quality, inland water quality and use, coastal and marine waters, radioactivity, noise, waste and recycling, land use and land cover, and wildlife. Available for free on the DEFRA website, and as 68 page pdf download or as print copy.

USACE provides quality, responsive engineering services to the nation, including civil works projects, construction of military facilities, and design and construction management support for other defense and federal agencies. In addition, USACE has key roles in homeland security and natural disaster management and is made up of approximately 34,600 civilian and 650 military men and women. Military and civilian engineers, scientists and other specialists work hand-in-hand as leaders on engineering and environmental issues.

Department of Health

The DoH and NIT are delivering a National programme of Independent Treatment Centres (TC) to support the DoH commitment to increase the provision of routine surgical procedures. The TC programme will engage with the local NHS Trusts and the independent healthcare provider, in delivering additional surgical provision via a partnership arrangement. This framework builds on the similar Estates Advisor role that White Young Green provides to the Healthcare Commission for the Private & Voluntary Healthcare registration process.
