Sofaer Capital, one of the longest established hedge fund managers, was founded by Michael Sofaer in Hong Kong in 1986. The flagship Sofaer Capital Global Hedge Fund was launched in June 1987 and is still managed by Michael Sofaer, who in 1989 launched the first dedicated Asian equity long/short Fund, which he managed until 2002.
