Genesee Intermediate School District (GISD) serves a region with over 83,000 students and nearly 10,000 educators. Our primary service area consists of the 21 public school districts and 10 public school academies (charter schools) in Genesee County, Michigan. Other services extend to Lapeer, Shiawassee and surrounding counties. GISD's operational funding comes from federal, state and local sources, plus numerous grants. Thirteen key concepts describe and define GISD's roles.
