The Learning Styles Institute, in conjunction with the Science & Arts Academy, the Illinois Association for Gifted Children and Dominican University provides professional development for educators as it relates to learning styles. The Institute's mission is to highlight the role of learning styles for the individual student and to provide educators with positive, effective strategies for supporting each particular learning style. Toward that goal, the Institute is offering an on-going series of in-service seminars covering various topics on learning styles.

The Enrichment Centers Inc

The Enrichment Centers is a local-area organization that began twelve years ago as the Center for Gifted and Talented. We have expanded greatly since then, and now provide three basic services: after-school programs, tutoring and mentoring, and summer programs. We are certified by the state of Maryland to teach reading and math in middle and elementary schools to at-risk children with the "No Child Left Behind" program. We have centers throughout the Washington DC Metro Area, including Montgomery County, Prince George's County, Washington DC, Arlington County and Fairfax County.

IMUNE exists to offer educational resources in natural medicine. It is modelled on an "Open University" structure to provide access to a reservoir of natural medicine knowledge. IMUNE offers a broad spectrum of course syllabuses, examinations and qualifications to service the interests of all students interested in natural medicine. The overriding intent is to provide accessible, flexible and affordable education and qualification of a high standard. IMUNE's purpose is to: Create, support and monitor high standards of education Enable natural Medicine practitioners to gain valuable qualifications for future regulation of Natural Medicine Specifically IMUNE facilitates: The development of Course Syllabuses Co-creates assessment procedures to ensure integrity of learning Operates the assessment process Issues Qualifications including: International Licenses Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral Qualifications Enables study for Continuing Education and Professional Development requirements. Learning with IMUNE is designed to be very accessible via: Distance learning (supported open learning) via internet (website and live internet dialogue), CD-ROM materials, books and scientific publications. Off campus class room training (live web based training) On campus class room training. Qualifying with IMUNE is a combination of: On line examinations for technical studies Assignments, project work (including case and clinical studies) Demonstration of Clinical Expertise Dissertations Future Natural Health Regulation A major benefit of IMUNE qualification is in respect of future regulation of natural health professions. Currently worldwide the majority of natural health professions are not regulated by statutory (government) institutions. This is under specific review worldwide and particularly within Europe in 2005. Implicit in such forthcoming regulations is grandfathering (ex post facto) whereby a credible professional in a field who has (1) validated high quality education and (2) significant experience prior to the introduction of regulation must be grandfathered in. There is a review process in this which examines the educational robustness of qualifications as well as their clinical operational history. IMUNE intends to ensure access to robust qualifications to ensure practitioners have the base for being grandfathered IMUNE has selected the qualification descriptor of International Licence as the optimal descriptor to facilitate this process and is establishing education to reflect the quality of international licence.
