Mike Hudson Distributing was founded in 1969 by Michael R. Hudson and Barbara B. Hudson in the San Francisco area. It began as a single truck operation with Michael R. Hudson picking up products (basic deli meats and cheeses) and delivering them directly to his customers. All warehousing was done through a refrigerator in his garage.
By 1970, the business was moved to Petaluma and a "chicken coop" on the West Side of town. It was there that the business hired its first employee. As the business continued to expand, the need for a more complete warehousing facility required Mike and Barbara to move the operation to a more suitable location. Ground was broken in early 1973 to begin construction on what proved to be the initial phase of the warehouse at 1297 Dynamic Street in Petaluma, California. In June of 2000, Barbara Hudson sold the assets of Mike Hudson Distributing, Inc. to HDP Enterprises, Inc., a corporation formed by Mike Hudson Distributing's management team of George Parisi, Frank Haynes and James Davis. Today, HDP Enterprises d.b.a. "Mike Hudson Distributing" is a multi-million dollar operation with sales stretching from Modesto, through the Silicon Valley to San Francisco and the East Bay, into Marin, Napa, Sonoma and Lake counties and up the Pacific Coast to the Oregon border.
