Additional certifications of our staff include a CCN (certified clinical nutritionist) a certified asthma educator, a diabetic educator and a nurse wellness coordinator. We are one of the leading compounding pharmacies in the nation with over 20 years experience in customized medication. With the dramatic increase in physicians turning to specialty formulations, we can help manage and control what can be a very effective and cost saving option to high cost alternatives. Issues of providers not participating, patients paying out of pocket, and the inability to manage formulary and pricing are difficult and time-consuming issues for managed care organizations. Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy has developed one of the most complete and innovative dialysis patient compliance programs in the nation. Started in February 2003, we have served over 2500 patients at over 90 dialysis centers in Michigan and Ohio. The program includes free medication delivery, patient monitoring, medication management, and clinic/physician reporting. It has already had a positive impact on the health and lives of many in this challenging patient population. We have all departments in place to continue to grow and meet the needs of our patients and clients. Our dedicated billing department has the knowledge and ability to handle all insurance related issues including 3rd party, Medicare, and alternative insurances. Our shipping and prescription delivery department offers same day and next day delivery for our specialty patients at no additional charge. We stay on the forefront of our industry by embracing and using the changes in technology to improve our processes and better serve our patients. We were the first independent pharmacy in Michigan to install the new generation of prescription robotics for improved patient safety and efficiency. We have worked closely with our software supplier to design reports and compliance tools to better manage our patient population. We are responsive and ready to move into e-prescribing. The Foundation for Managed Care Pharmacy (FMCP), a 501(c)3 nonprofit, charitable trust, is a research, education and philanthropic organization supporting the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP). The Foundation supports the goals and mission of AMCP and exists to advance the knowledge and insights of interested individuals and groups on major issues associated with the practice of pharmacy in managed health care settings. Established in 1990, the Foundation was created to allow corporations and interested individuals an opportunity to participate in the research and education agenda of AMCP. The Foundation also allows corporate and individual members of AMCP to demonstrate their commitment to the concept and practice of pharmaceutical care in managed health care settings. FMCP is the only non-profit charitable trust dedicated solely to supporting research and education activities in the field of managed care pharmacy.
