The Homestead Group offers a variety of residential options to people with developmental disabilities and their families based on individual needs. Consistent with the agency's philosophy, all residential options are devoted to enhancing the lives of our participants, as well as their families through support and advocacy. We provide individualized services that enable people to lead enjoyable and productive lives as members of their communities. Residential Services: The Residential Services Division provides 24 hour supports for individuals of varied backgrounds and abilities. The division presently operates 17 homes and it is our philosophy to support those who choose to live together and to provide opportunities for them to do so safely and happily.

Community Treatment & Correction Center , Inc.

The CTCC, Inc. has been serving the Stark County Community for over 30 years. The inception of the idea for a halfway house for male offenders was the cooperative efforts of the Canton Urban League and Goodwill Industries. The CTCC, Inc. became incorporated as a private, non-profit 501(3) entity in 1989. CTCC, Inc. is a proven innovator as it relates to providing services in the Stark County Community. Some highlights in CTCC, Inc.'s history include: The Genesis Alternative School, designed in 1992 as the first alternative school in Stark County. In 1992 CTCC, Inc. became certified by the Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services (ODADAS) to provide chemical dependency treatment for adults and adolescents in 1994. In 1993, the agency was awarded a federal grant from the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment to operate Stark County's first Adolescent Substance Abuse Treatment program aimed at African American Youth. In 1995, CTCC, Inc. was awarded Stark County's first day reporting program, although administration of the program was placed with another agency. CTCC, Inc. was instrumental in the development of the Stark County Corrections Planning Board, by making contacts with the State of Ohio and other counties who were administering planning boards at the time. In 1997, the Ohio Department of Youth Services awarded CTCC, Inc. a contract to perform Youth Advocacy Services for Stark County adolescents. In 1998, CTCC, Inc. was certified to operate at two sites by ODADAS and began functioning as a free standing Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program. CTCC, Inc. was recognized by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction in 1998 for "Professional Achievement". In 2003 CTCC, Inc. received Residential Certification from ODADAS. CTCC, Inc. is the only program certified as a halfway house residential treatment facility in Stark County.

HABILITATIVE SYSTEMS, INC. is a multi-faceted human service agency that plays a substantial role in the articulation, development and delivery of programs and services to improve the quality of life in the city of Chicago. Habilitative Systems, Inc. exists to alleviate human suffering by developing and providing resources to promote maximum independence, personal responsibility and dignity for mentally, physically, socially and emotionally disabled persons. HSI began in 1978 as a dream of a small group of church folk. The agency has grown from four (4) programs to fifty (50) programs which serve over 7,000 persons annually in 14 sites on Chicago's West and South sides. "Freeing the Human Spirit" is the all pervasive concept of the agency's dedication to develop disadvantaged persons into capable, competent, contributing citizens.

Ability Beyond Disability

Ability Beyond Disability is a health and human services provider serving approximately 800 adults from 18 years old to end of life, with moderate to significant disabilities, including developmental disabilities, mental retardation, traumatic brain injury, and mental illness. In addition, we provide early intervention and assistance to those individuals who are under 18 and in the school system. Our focus is to intervene early to help young people with disabilities. Our mission: To enable individuals whose independent living skills are impaired by disability, illness or injury, to achieve and maintain self-reliance, fulfillment and comfort at home, at work and in the community, by providing the best comprehensive home, health and rehabilitation services. Emmaus Homes , Inc.

Emmaus Homes has provided services to men and women with developmental disabilities for nearly 115 years (click here for Emmaus' History). Today, approximately 325 people receive services on Emmaus' two campuses in St. Charles and Marthasville, Missouri, as well as in five counties throughout eastern Missouri. Through a variety of residential and programming options, staff members work with clients to help them reach their highest levels of physical and social independence. Emmaus Homes' residential programs are designed around options. Individual's mental, physical and social abilities are assessed to determine the living situation best suited to their needs, including on-campus housing, group homes and individual supported living residences. Some homes have 24-hour supervision, while others provide part-time supervision and assistance. In addition to residential services, Emmaus Homes offers a variety of habilitative programs, including sensory, physical and music therapies. Through various life skills programs, clients are taught the skills needed to independently maneuver through the community in which they live. Recreation is an important part of maintaining a happy, healthy life. Emmaus Homes offers a variety of activities to meet the interests of clients, including sports, Special Olympics, arts and crafts, gardening, music, choir, community outings and much more. To promote spiritual wholeness, full-time chaplains on each campus provide a variety of services to residents and employees, including worship services, pastoral counseling, visitation to residences and hospitals and Christian education. While Emmaus Homes is a Christian ministry, it is committed to serving persons of any or no religious persuasion who have a developmental disability. Emmaus' programs and services are designed to help each person achieve the highest quality of life possible, to inspire growth and learning in the most normative environment possible and to encourage independence in choice of lifestyle and personal growth. Emmaus Homes is a private, not-for-profit facility related to the United Church of Christ's Council for Health and Human Service Ministries and supported by the United Way. Emmaus' services are provided without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, veteran status or disability.
