Florida Aluminum and Steel has been providing metal fabrication services to Southwest Florida for over 50 years. Originally founded in Ft. Myers along the banks of the Caloosahatchee River, Florida Aluminum has invested in the growth and development of the region since inception of the operations in 1948. Relocating to its current site in 1985, Florida Aluminum greatly expanded operations and began taking on larger scale steel and aluminum projects. By 1995, the company had added steel trusses to its production line and was the only contractor in the area to fabricate and erect structural steel, craft ornamental metalwork, and supply light gauge steel trusses, all from the same site. To further expand the facility's structural steel fabrication capabilities, a new 20,000 square foot shop was added to the site in 2002. Integrating 35 tons of overhead crane capacity, this new shop set the stage for the Company's future growth in its fabrication capabilities. In 2005, Florida Aluminum announced the acquisition of a state-of-the-art FICEP Automated Beam Line.
