C&H Die Casting , Inc.

http://www.chdiecasting.com

C&H Die Casting is a medium-sized manufacturer of custom aluminum die castings located in Troy, Texas. The company was founded by Texas native Ed Hinkle and a partner in 1970. At that time, with just three die cast machines and a handful of employees, the partners scavenged for new accounts, eventually landing a variety of smaller customers that launched the business. For the next decade, C&H evolved into an established and respected regional die caster. During this period, the Hinkle family proceeded to increase their ownership interest in the company. In 1988, the family's next generation, Charles Hinkle and Ferol Richardson, purchased their parents' interest in the company. Charles Hinkle would take over the presidency of C&H Die Casting. He had earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia, as well as an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School in Boston (where he was a Baker Scholar Graduate). He'd worked for a Boston-based strategy consulting firm for two years before returning to Texas to work at C&H Die Casting. Ferol Richardson received a bachelor's degree in marketing from Texas A&M University. As vice president, she would take on the challenging tasks of staffing and management of the company's human resources. Under their direction, C&H Die Casting grew from a crew of 90 employees in 1987 to an employer of 500 personnel in 1996. The company now services a diverse customer base with demanding requirements; the precision parts produced here are integral components in a variety of industries including HVAC; automotive; electric motors; cable television; gas meters; and valve actuators. Its 500 employees make C&H one of the larger employers in its region and a key player in the community's economic well-being.

Great Lakes Castings LLC

http://www.greatlakescastings.com

Great Lakes Castings, LLC has been producing high quality gray iron castings for over 60 years. Founded in 1945 and in continuous operation since April of 1946, Great Lakes Castings built a reputation as one of the nation's premier high production domestic foundries, and continues to do so today. We serve clients throughout the midwest and southeastern United States, but we also work in California and even Canada. Our 160,000 square foot foundry is located on 26 acres in the city of Ludington, Michigan, and has had several significant expansions over the past few years allowing us to be an industry leader in technology, safety, and environmental protection. Great Lakes Castings is also one of the few high production domestic foundries to have a fully equipped laboratory capable of metallurgical, chemical, physical and material code specifications. In fact, the GLC foundry contains some of the most modern green sand molding equipment available, allowing us to offer engineering services (pattern shop design and dimensional layouts) and other process capabilities including shell core, cold box, heat-treat capabilities, and of course, annealing. One of our most significant expansions occurred in 1995. A 26,500 square foot facility was built to house a 2013B Disamatic molding machine. A new finishing facility was established in Holland, Michigan in 2004. Our iron foundry produces quality ferrous and gray iron castings serving many different industries and applications. While GLC specializes in gray iron castings, our markets include air conditioning, automotive aftermarket, compressors, construction, agriculture, heating, pumps, refrigeration, and valves. The company's original founders were Donald Birtwistle, Theodore Miller, Louis Rehbein, and Raymond Gilbert. The company was sold in February of 1984 to Brittany Corporation, an investment group located in Cleveland, Ohio. The company was acquired in December of 2006 by Republic Financial Corporation, a privately held investment company located in Aurora, Colorado.
