http://www.limelighttheatre.ca

Lime Light Theatre Productions are one of Ontario's finest independent professional theatre companies, operating year-round in Parry Sound, Georgian Bay, Ontario. Since opening its doors to the public for the inaugural 2005 Summer Theatre Season, Lime Light Theatre, and Lime Light Theatre Productions aim to offer high quality professional shows year round. Living surrounded by the natural majesty and beauty of Georgian Bay, one cannot help but be inspired by natures landscape and, accordingly, we offer not only artistic excellence, but cultural and creative diversity to appeal to many tastes. How else would we tempt you off the dock? Live theatre feeds the soul and nourishes the senses. It lifts us above ourselves and makes us better human beings. "Theatre is as relevant as it's always been and as powerful as ever because you have the actors right in front of you and there's a real exchange of energy. There is no real separation between the audience and the action on stage and in a live production, anything can happen." Lime Light Theatre has great diversity in programming which has set it apart and ensures there's truly something for everyone.

Theatre Cambridge

http://www.theatrecambridge.com

Theatre Cambridge was launched in the summer of 2003 with the presentation of The Man Who Came to Dinner at the Cambridge Arts Theatre in Downtown Cambridge. After two artistically successful summer seasons in 2004 and 2005 it was decided to take a hiatus during 2006 to regroup and put the business on a more substantial financial footing. Typical of many non-profit organizations Theatre Cambridge was founded with very little money, woefully under-capitalized, but with great hope for the future. That hope still exists, however, the Board of Directors felt it would be prudent to became more financially stable prior to launching another season of plays and getting further into debt; hence the decision to take a year off from presenting live performances. The Board decision is guided by the old Chinese proverb: "In crisis there is opportunity." During 2006 it is the intention of Theatre Cambridge to hold a number of fundraising activities to eliminate the debt that is now owed and to produce enough working capital to proceed. Over the next few weeks we will be announcing plans for various fundraising events. In the meantime memberships are welcome. If you sign up now you will be given a membership to the end of 2007. Already launched is our $100,000 Ross Earnshaw Challenge. This was started in the middle of February 2006 when Ross, a member of our Board of Directors, was quoted in the Record as follows: "If we had 100 people come forward and contribute $1,000 each, we'd go ahead this year. I've put my $1,000 in, we need 99 more. I think we need the people of Cambridge who believe in professional theatre . . . to contribute to a groundswell of support. We need those people who believe in what we do to come forward with tangible support." Well, the deadline to go ahead was March 1st and although we didn't make the whole amount in that short time, we do have money and/or pledges for $22,100.* So, we've left this challenge open and hope you will consider joining in with your donation. As a Registered Charity you will receive a tax receipt for this amount. It has been necessary for Theatre Cambridge to reduce its paid staff and at the moment day-to-day duties are being looked after by a group of volunteers. If you would like to help please leave us a message on our phone at 740 9820 and someone will get right back to you or email Ken Wright at janeken@rogers.com.

Fools

http://www.fools.ca

A Company of Fools has been delighting audiences all across Canada since 1990 (see: History). Inspired by the rogue Elizabethan players that once entertained audiences outdoors and at the Globe theatre, we have built a reputation as a highly physical troupe doing interactive shows indoors and out. The Fools mount two shows a year, plus perform at numerous festivals, in schools, and at corporate events. Our award winning shows have performed all across Canada, from Halifax to Vancouver to Yellowknife. We are a not-for-profit incorporation and a registered charity. A Company of Fools is Ottawa's only professional Shakespeare company. The mandate of the Fools is to produce innovative, entertaining and accessible shows based on the works of William Shakespeare. We produce original works inspired by Shakespeare as well as performing his plays. Being Fools, we combine physical theatre techniques such as clown, mask and puppetry with the classical text. This unusual mix has earned us critical acclaim all across Canada. As part of our mandate we create new works based on and inspired by Shakespeare. Although known for our performances, the Fools are active in the field of education. We provide workshops and performances for elementary and high school students. We also program professional development workshops for emerging and established artists in the region. For further enlightenment regarding the core members of the Fools see our biographies. "God bless A Company of Fools. Where would original theatre in Ottawa - that is to say original theatre that is wild, witty, clever, goofy, sometimes dumb and slightly mad - be without them? ... outrageous puns, imaginative adaptations ... and the most glorious physical comedy this side of Clown School ... a comic presence that is nothing short of brilliant ... irreverent, entertaining and, most of all, fun."
