Bordeaux Index was founded in January 1997, and has since established itself as one of the premier fine wine traders in the UK, offering a personalised and fully comprehensive service to its domestic and international client base. We sell about £1m per week of fine wine, largely due to the fact that not only can we draw on tremendous wine tasting and purchasing experience, but also a background of finance, trading and investment - a combination that is both unique and crucial in today's wine market. We have excellent connections, not only in Bordeaux and Burgundy, but all over Europe, enabling us to source the finest stock at the correct prices. We also have a wide network of contacts with some of the world's finest collectors, enabling us to source many of the rarer bottles. We regularly stock legendary vintages of First Growths, La Mission Haut Brion, Cheval Blanc, Le Pin & Petrus, and are one of the only merchants in the UK to constantly hold full cases of 'blue chip' wines in the original wood - ranging from Lafite, Latour, and Mouton in 1982 to future legends such as Cheval Blanc 1998 and Margaux 2000. However that's not all we do! We also have a great range of Rhone, Burgundy and Champagne and we have one of the most comprehensive lists in this area. We have excellent stocks of Domaine de la Romanee Conti, as well as de Vogue, Leflaive, Ponsot, Lignier, and Jayer. We store all our wines at London City Bond in Tilbury Docks, whilst our client reserves are stored in Vinotheque (150 miles away!) and 95% of the wines we list belong to us. Every single bottle that comes through our hands is inspected, and photographed if necessary. Photographs are available of all the wines that we have in stock. We only source our wine from reputable sources, and we pride ourselves in never buying wines that have been moved outside of Europe - in short, we are the only large merchant in the UK to NOT buy strip labelled stock that has been to the US or Asia. In addition to our extensive catalogue of fine wines, Bordeaux Index offers a tailor-made management portfolio service for either investment, drinking, or both.
