Lithium Power Technologies, Inc. is a privately owned company founded in 1998 by Dr. M. Zafar A. Munshi with the assistance of a group of Angel Investors. Lithium Power is at the forefront in the design, development and manufacture of the next generation rechargeable lithium batteries and advanced specialty capacitors. Lithium Power has a number of issued and pending patents that will deliver a new concept in high energy density portable power sources to market. The Company has developed extensive knowledge on numerous forms of advanced power sources, including a new high energy density lithium ion battery currently under active development that offers the possibility of being safely used in large format applications such as hybrid electric vehicles and aerospace, and a polymer film capacitor technology that offers an order of magnitude improvement in energy density. With new product designs and innovations developed during the past six years, Lithium Power has significantly advanced the overall state-of-the-art performance of the lithium ion battery. The Company has completed a number of small business innovative research (SBIR) Phase I and Phase II programs with the Missile Defense Agency and other agencies. On-going U.S. Federal Government Programs are with the Department of Defense, Department of Commerce and NASA. The Company is also collaborating with various industries and universities in a multi-million program funded by the Department of Commerce. Lithium Power has three key near-term power source related technologies under present development for which it is exploring the opportunity to partner with investors and industries. These include: (a) a new lithium ion battery with increased energy and improved safety; (b) a lightweight plastic lithium ion battery; and (c) a high voltage metallized polymer film capacitor. The Company is also involved in the development of other power source technologies, including lithium solid-state polymer electrolyte batteries, supercapacitors, and lithium thermal batteries. We are located in Manvel, Texas occupying approximately 9,000 sq. ft. of fully equipped offices and labs on a 10.5 acre estate. Our facility includes a dry room, battery packaging equipment, winding equipment, inert atmosphere glove boxes, vacuum deposition equipment and battery and capacitor test equipment, among numerous other equipment.
