Patco Electronics, Inc. was founded in the fall of 1992, for the purpose of providing the electronics industry with state of the art battery management tools spanning the chemistries employed in secondary batteries. The first product was a battery manager for lead acid batteries designed around the Unitrode 3906 lead acid controller. From there Patco has expanded the lead acid line to include higher current managers for larger batteries, and algorithms for unique construction of lead acid batteries. NiCAD and NiMH managers designed around specialized controllers came next. A third product line addresses the medium prismatic Lithium Ion batteries manufactured by Saft America. Patco has developed a new technology for battery management equipment. Heat is the enemy of electronics, interfering with both the life expectancy of electrical elements employed in the battery manager itself, and the sensing of temperature in the battery being managed. Through a proprietary method of control, Patco's engineering group has developed a technique of feeding back control information from the battery management chip to control a primary switching circuit producing the low voltage power for the battery. This approach eliminates much of the heat that would have to be dealt with by conventional approaches. As of the fall of 1996, Patco Electronics occupies its own 10,000 square foot facility, situated on five acres in Spaceport Center Industrial Park, just outside Kennedy Space Center.
Flow-Rite Controls, Ltd., an ISO 9001 registered company, was founded in 1981 by a group that included businessmen experienced in international manufacturing, patent attorneys, and an engineer with an interest and background in fluid mechanics. The business plan was to develop lines of fluid control products based on the technology of fluidics. Fluidics is the branch of fluid mechanics in which sensing and control valve functions are performed by fluids using a minimum of moving parts. Our market focus was on those industries where conventional mechanical valves had proven to be unreliable. Our first products included automatic level controls for commercial and residential swimming pools. We developed a frictionless hydraulic control valve that replaced troublesome ball cock type float valves. In 1985, we were asked by General Battery Corp. to apply our technology to the problem of industrial battery watering. GBC was looking for a single point watering system that would perform more reliably than available systems. We developed prototypes, which GBC found to their liking, and we entered into production. GBC marketed our valves exclusively for two years, after which we expanded distribution to over 150 distributors throughout the United States , Canada , Mexico , Europe, Australia , and Japan . As our battery watering product line has grown, so too have our other product lines, which include fluid handling products for the recreational fishing industry, and general industrial markets.Flow-Rite is a vertically integrated company. We design and manufacture our own products. Under one roof we have our own mold making shop and state of the art plastic injection molding operation. Our products are solely our own proprietary developments, protected by over 3 dozen U.S. patents and hundreds of international patents.Flow-Rite Controls now markets worldwide. This expansion has given us a worldwide perspective of the battery watering needs of the international battery industry. As a result, over the past 5 years, we have made substantial improvements to our watering systems. These improvements are so significant that we have created a new system called Millennium SPW. Millennium SPW is the world's most versatile single point watering system. Our previous developments, Snap-Fill and Powerstream, are pressure-operated systems which operate over a narrow range of water supply pressures. Millennium SPW is independent of water supply pressure, operating reliably at 3 to 33 psi. Millennium SPW meets all the watering needs of the worldwide industrial battery user.Millennium SPW is our latest product, and a prime example of how we see our mission, which is to develop, manufacture, and market the highest quality, best performing products in each industry we serve.

In 2005, MAC sold its Linklater Oxide equipment line to Eagle Oxide Systems of Indianapolis, Indiana. MAC has acquired an equity position in Eagle and will take the Sales and Marketing position of the association.
