SPAN Inc., a privately held Indiana company, was founded on June 1, 1985 by William Baker, the current president. Originally a consulting company, SPAN has designed successful electronic products and systems for a wide range of markets including medical, agricultural, architectural, consumer electronics, radio devices, marine electronics, etc. Our second consulting customer required a battery servicing solution which, as we produced it, lead to patents and a continuing commitment to this rapidly growing market. SPAN's continuous involvement in the battery servicing field makes it possible to say that it is unlikely any new requirement will be substantially different from something we have already done. Our goal is to make this experience effective for our new customers, to relieve them from the tricky problem of creating battery service products on tight schedules when their engineers might better be employed creating in their main product area - computers, radios and other portable equipment. Whether small size, appearance or special feature content, SPAN has been providing our customers with competitive advantages.
