  • Andrews Van Lines was founded in 1920 by Mr. A.R. Andrews, father of Clayton Andrews, now president of Andrews Van Lines. It was then known as Andrews Transfer & Storage. In 1936 the Interstate Commerce Commission started granting certificates for Motor Carriers. The then Andrews Transfer & Storage obtained a certificate to operate in 13 non-radial states: North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, and Nebraska. The company operated within this area until 1947, when it purchased a certificate that added 22 additional non-radial states, giving it access to the east coast. Shortly afterward, we purchased other interstate authorities that expanded our operating area into the North Western and South Eastern parts of the United States. In 1954 the company's name was changed to Andrews Van & Storage and Clayton Andrews began expanding the organization into a larger van line. His boyhood dream of building his father's organization into a nationwide van line became a reality. In 1961, the business was incorporated and named Andrews Van Lines, Inc. Today, Andrews Van Lines is a world wide moving company that operates between all 48 contiguous states, Alaska, and Hawaii. In addition, our International Division has representation in 21 foreign countries. The rapid and sound growth of Andrews Van Lines, Inc. is a result of this company's sincere efforts to give our customers a personalized moving service at economy rates.
