European Commission

The European Commission is implementing a re-evaluation of substances used as pesticides. These should be notified to the Commission and low risk substances are also included. This affects many substances used in organic farming, especially those which it is not commercially viable to register or to compile safety data. Therefore the European Commission has established a working group on organic faming with experts from the member states.

National Weather Service (Oct 2005) - The National Weather Service (NWS) provides weather, hydrologic, and climate forecasts and warnings for the United States, its territories, adjacent waters and ocean areas, for the protection of life and property and the enhancement of the national economy. NWS data and products form a national information database and infrastructure which can be used by other governmental agencies, the private sector, the public, and the global community. The Weather Network (Oct 2005) - Weather forecasts for Canada, U.S., and International regions. Includes information on watches and warnings, along with radar, satellite and weather maps. Tropical Cyclone Forecasts and Advisories (Oct 2005) - The Tropical Prediction Center (TPC) is composed in part by The National Hurricane Center (NHC) which maintains a continuous watch on tropical cyclones from 15 May in the eastern Pacific and 1 June in the Atlantic through November 30 and The Tropical Analysis and Forecast Branch (TAFB) which provides year-round marine weather analysis and forecast products over the tropical and subtropical waters of the eastern North and South Pacific and the North Atlantic basin. Weather Forecasts for Travellers (Oct 2005) - The Weather Channel's Web site has this nifty travel tool. Put in your departure city and your destination. Then, specify the dates of travel. You'll get a forecast for your travel dates. Along with the forecast, you're given tips on what to pack.
